Fun Coffee Drinks You Can Make At Home

There are coffee shops all over Reynoldsburg, and if you live at Muirwood Village, you’ll even find Mersh’s Breakfast Cafe less than a mile away. But sometimes when you’re staying in or entertaining friends, you might want to be your own barista. Fortunately, you don’t need a fancy espresso machine to do it! Here are some easy coffee recipes you can make at home with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.

French Café au Lait

This one is just equal parts strong coffee and steamed milk. An easy trick for steaming milk at home like the pros: shake it up in a Mason jar for 30 seconds and then heat it in the microwave just until the jar is warm, but not too hot to touch. Pour the milk over your coffee and spoon the foam over the top. Make it even fancier with a sprinkle of cinnamon, cocoa, or nutmeg.

Cold Brew Iced Coffee

Keep that Mason jar handy along with a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer, and you’ll have all the tools you need to make this delicious home cold brew coffee. Combine your favorite ground coffee with 1-½ cups of cold water and let it sit in the refrigerator for 12 hours. When you’re ready to enjoy it, strain and pour over ice. Add cream or milk if desired. So easy!

Caramel Macchiato Float

Take that cold brew you just made (store-bought is fine too!) and add two teaspoons of Folgers Iced Cafe Caramel Macchiato concentrate, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and drizzle caramel sauce over the top. If you’re feeling extra ambitious, you can make your own salted caramel. (It’s easier than you might think!)

Korean-style Whipped Coffee

This is a simple variation of the Korean-style coffee made with dalgona, or honeycomb toffee. All you need is instant coffee, sugar, hot water, and milk. You can choose cocoa, vanilla, or caramel for added flavor.

Iced Brown Sugar Coffee

You can use strong brewed coffee, iced coffee, or instant coffee for this recipe, and then make a simple syrup by boiling brown sugar and water. After your syrup has cooled, pour it over ice and add your coffee and milk.

Easy Spiced Morning Mocha

This is a simple recipe using a few key ingredients from your spice rack, and it packs a lot of flavor! Once you’ve combined instant coffee, French vanilla powdered non-dairy creamer, and sugar, you’ll use a blend of cocoa, ginger, and cinnamon.
